THE HEALING CENTER /
new brand identity & website redesign
Who
The Healing Center is a Seattle based non-profit organization. It provides support to people experiencing grief by offering quality group counseling in a safe, loving environment. It gives every grieving person the chance to adjust to a world without their loved one, and to continue living. Effective bereavement support is key to this process.
What
The organization is in need of a user friendly responsive website that educates users, creates awareness and fosters connections.
The users of the recent website face following challenges:
• Difficulty to locate the information
• Difficulties with naming or navigation
• Redundant information
• Looks “homestyle”
• Concerns about making donations on the site safely
My role
User Researcher, UI/Visual Designer.
Tools
Sketch, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
Result
New brand identity and a modern, mobile-friendly website that
makes it easy to understand what The Healing Center is all about.
Revised Sitemap
After performing deep competitive research and auditing of the site I worked on building a new sitemap to provide a solid ground for the project. I illuminated the redundancy and regrouped information for a quick access.
Moodboard
Colors & Photography Style
Based on color psychology I chose the following palette:
Green: the color of growth and health. It has a strong association with renewal and life. It provides a restful and secure feeling.
Purple: the color of spirituality. It inspires reflection and self awareness.
Orange. The color of encouragement and motivation.
Brown. The color of stability and a solid foundation.
Photography has to feel intimate and evoke warmth of human connections.
New Logo
The brand audit showed a need for a better scalable logo. I used the original kid’s drawing as a legacy and association with a unique physical location of the organization.
